Overview:

Kai’s life is slowly drained away after being swallowed by the diabo when he hears a voice…

Our Take:

I’ll fully admit that I don’t quite understand how Kai’s powers work, but this episode had something awesome happen. Kai was getting digested, which, as you can imagine, is not good, and he needed to protect himself. He created a calcified armor of sorts around himself and came bursting out. Again, I don’t understand how he did it, but he looked badass, and sometimes that’s all you need. Kai’s growth in this season was great, and I hope we get to see more of it.

This leads me to my main problem, which has been happening a lot more this season than in recent seasons, I feel. Shows get this build-up to something and then just end. We got a post-credits scene for this show that left an opening for a second season. I hope we do get one because this was a unique spin on an isekai we don’t normally get. If you pay attention, you can tell that Kai is isekai’d from modern Japan, but it’s not the main focal point, which was refreshing. Let’s hope we get a season two eventually.
