Overview:
Kazuya suggests that he and Chizuru get lunch together. How will she take it?
Our Take:
This show might be my least favorite rom-com I’ve ever watched. The sad part is it’s gotten more seasons than a lot of others, and something tells me the whole thing will be adapted if the manga ever ends. It’s a shame this is where we are because when I first started reading the manga, it was one of my favorites, but there hasn’t been any progress since the first hundred chapters. Rent-a-Girlfriend manages to be a harem with none of the harem elements. Similar to A Couple of Cuckoos, we know who Kazuya wants to be with; there’s no mystery there. Maybe I was spoiled because the first harem I watched and was invested in was The Quintessential Quintuplets, and that show kept me guessing till the very end, essentially.
I was probably the most frustrated I’ve ever been watching this show with this episode. Chizuru straight-up asked him if he was in love with her. I understand that he got interrupted twice, but dude, you can answer on the walk home or something. I’ll commend him for trying to respond but then got interrupted yet again but still you could text her “hey we need to talk” or something. Man I hate this show.
