Overview
Tina, Gene and Louise strike it rich in the illegal snack business at school.
Our Take
The episode is called “Snackface” to allude to the fact that this week’s episode of Bob’s Burgers focuses on an illegal drug snack ring with a special brand of chips at the center ergo a pastiche of Scarface. But really, in terms of drug mob movies go, this week’s episode probably has more in common with the Denzel Washington-starrer American Gangster in that there’s a whole bit with trust, a counterfeit product, and ultimately a tip that nearly leads to an arrest that doesn’t happen, but I can see why the producers went with “Snackface”.
In any event, the Rich Rinaldi-written episode is a hilarious send up of the drug mob genre that delivers in every conceivable facet. Featuring expanded cast members Millie Frock(Molly Shannon) and poor Peter Pescadero (H. Jon Benjamin) that help to round out a fun romp that features hilarious twists and turns that Bob’s Burgers fans should love.
Even the B-plot with Bob and Linda attempting to get their computer fixed hit close to home because I used to be a computer repair person whilst in college so maybe I’m a bit biased but it’s scary accurate how the conversations with customers really are and everything from a technical aspect maybe a bit out-of-date but still serviceable, comical, and featuring hilarious dialogue.
Overall, a strong week of Bob’s Burgers. Chips and computers, who could’ve seen that combo working?
