Overview:
Zenos attends class at the Royal Hospital’s headquarters, under the assumed identity of “Zeno.”
Our Take:
They’re using the term “assumed identity” very loosely. The only difference between his real name and his assumed one is an “s”. Honestly, what is the point? Is that Zenos? No, his name is Zeno. That has to be one of the dumbest things I’ve seen. I thought it was being played up for laughs, but instead, they seem dead serious. Umin accidentally called him Zenos during lunch and said, “Oops, I mean Zeno.” I’m just saying that when he goes to leave the academy, it’s not going to be hard to track him down. Lily isn’t happy with the assumed identity either, because she was hoping to be his wife, but instead, she is listed as his little sister. Carmilla also came along, and I hope nothing bad happens to her, since she’s currently surrounded by exorcists.
It was cool seeing Zenos, I mean Zeno, put an annoying student in his place. Zenos has been exorcising far longer than most of the people at this school. He knows a magic circle that is very difficult to grasp, and his professor wants him to help with his research. I think coming to the academy is going to help put things in perspective for Zenos. If you watch the opening every time, you might also notice that the animation has changed slightly to show him entering the academy, so I thought that was a nice touch.
