Maomao is taken to a mountain stronghold, where many of the secrets of the Shi clan are revealed to her.
Our Take(Spoilers):
I do so much research for these shows that I sometimes accidentally spoil myself on things. So imagine my surprise when I saw my jaw drop when it was revealed that Shisui is the pure consort, Loulan. I love a good noble in hiding trope, but I feel like I usually do a decent job of picking them out, but in this case, I was floored by what transpired. Now things are starting to click into place. Now, all that remains to be seen is whether Shisui is going to be an ally or an enemy to Maomao. Is she gonna double-cross her mother or continue to be a puppet?
Jinshi and Lakan are losing patience when it comes to their search for Maomao. So much so that Lakan makes some not-so-kind remarks towards Jinshi about his heritage. But then, in one of the better parts of the series, Maomao’s adopted father puts Lakan in his place by telling him to be kind when asking for something. He then bows and asks Jinshi for help, but not as Jinshi but as the Moon Prince.
