OverviewAzusa tries to help a pine spirit whose temple has fallen on hard times due to a decrease in weddings. Our TakeWhen talk of marriage suddenly enters the picture, Azusa finds herself reluctantly roped into a trip to a neighboring town that’s fallen into a strange slump. Accompanied by her usual crew, they discover the town’s mysterious issue is tied to an ancient marriage tradition and a struggling spirit hoping to revive her once-thriving domain. Though no one in the group is keen on the idea of matchmaking, they agree to help out with an unusual yet effective solution. What follows is an unexpectedly unusual yet heartfelt ceremony involving a pair of familiar faces, complete with formal attire, touching speeches, and a flood of comedic and emotional reactions from the group, especially one teary-eyed demon lord who nearly steals the show. A lot of the proceedings were fun while gently poking fun at romantic tropes but none of it felt boring at least. Overall, this episode leans fully into the wholesome chaos the series is known for, blending cute antics with emotional payoffs. Despite the odd premise, the story keeps things light and charming while offering a nostalgic callback to early moments in the show. A newly introduced character adds a quirky twist to the cast, and while no real matchmaking happens, the experience strengthens bonds and sets the stage for future fun.
