Overview (Spoilers Below): While Kurt and Yulishia help a farm with their pigs, a demon tries to take away Akuri.
Our Take: Raising a child involves significant responsibility, but doing so while running an atelier requires even greater commitment. This is the case when Kurt and Yulishia are hired to help the farmers tend to their pigs while protecting Akuri. You might be thinking, “I thought the farmer hired Kurt and Yulishia to defeat a demon lord.” Well, it turns out the farmer was a loony-head who spouts out random things, according to his daughter-in-law. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t any demons for them to confront, transforming this seemingly ordinary job into a battle for their lives. In addition to Kurt’s tamed dragon, the duo and Akuri face off against a demon hunter named Solflare, who seems to have been targeting Akuri. The episode didn’t clearly say anything about the demon’s name, but I did gather that information from the subtitles. Following a more laid-back scenario involving Akuri’s introduction, this episode kicked things up a notch with a confrontation between Yulishia and Solflare. However, like in the previous episodes, this one didn’t quite match the stakes it’s going for regarding the second-rate quality despite Solflare’s formidable presence. But it does open up some curious questions that might come into play in later episodes, including Solflare’s stunned reaction towards Akuri. The other is Akuri’s surprise appearance to save Yulishia, which could be described as a type of teleportation ability. So, it’s possible that we could be looking at another OP character in the form of a three-year-old girl who may or may not be a “monster”. As for the humor, the parts involving Kurt and Yulishia being mistaken as newlyweds could provide some giggles from other viewers. Unfortunately, I wasn’t one of them, as Yulishia’s reactions had already grown stale many episodes ago, and I’m usually a sucker for these types of anime reactions. The appearance of their new atelier meister could help inject interest in later episodes, but again, I’m not holding onto hope that it’ll happen.
