Overview:
Maomao has been missing for ten days now. Jinshi’s investigations lead him to a forgotten graveyard.
Our Take:
Jinshi is losing himself in his search for Maomao. He is supposed to be playing a part right now, but he finds it hard to keep calm and not act out with Maomao being lost. I’m hoping that if and when they are reunited before the end of this season that we finally get some romantic progress. Unfortunately, with Maomao being the type of person she is, I don’t see that hope coming true.
I feel bad for Jinshi because he has to deal with the repercussions of what his grandfather did. When he met a woman at the graveyard, he smelled something on her that led him to believe she knew where Maomao was. But when he calmed down and smiled at her, she became terrified and attempted to kill herself because he reminded her of the old emperor, who probably assaulted her.
We didn’t get to see Maomao at all in this episode, but I have a feeling that in the next episode, we are going to get to check up on her. Which is good because her biological father, Lakan, found out, and he won’t rest until he finds her as well. We also learned that he has another “son” that he adopted, who seems like he could be an interesting character.
