Overview:
Kai’s accomplishments attract the attention of Vezin, and Kai recalls a childhood memory.
Our Take:
Kai is now on the Baron’s radar and Baron Vezin decided to test him in a mock battle. He told Kai that out of respect he would not kill him. I personally didn’t think that Kai’s performance in the sparring session was that good but apparently Vezin felt differently because he was impressed. Kai will now be training with Vezin everyday as if he didn’t have enough going on. I’m starting to wonder when Kai has time to sleep when he goes out into the valley every night.
We learned that Elsa and Kai grew up in the same village that was attacked when they were kids. This means that Elsa has a bit of the childhood friend trope going in her favor now as well. She remembered when Kai promised to become stronger so that he would never lose his village again.
Now it seems there is a bigger and more dangerous orc on the prowl and he has a bone to pick with the valley village. I don’t think Kai will be able to keep the fact that he’s a guardian bearer secret much longer.
