Overview:
It’s 2020, and “that virus” is wreaking havoc on Mizuho’s high school life. She had the worst 17th birthday ever. Her childhood friend Kizuki confesses to being in love with her. As it turns out, almost all her childhood friends are in love with her. The story also has glimpses into Mizuho’s future in 2030, where she’s still struggling to figure out if she had a youthful experience to be proud of.
Our Take:
I’m not going to lie to you, I hated this show. I’ve watched plenty of harems and even reverse harems, which, in my opinion, this show is. Normally, the main character is make or break in a show like this, and to be honest, Mizuho isn’t THAT bad. She can be annoying, but if I were her and all of her childhood friends started telling me they loved me or kissing me without my consent, I’d probably be stressed out too. To be fair, only two of them make actual moves on her, but one of them is clearly in love with her, and the other is gay, I think. I’m honestly more interested in Airu, the one I believe to be gay, because I think he has a thing for Kizuki. It doesn’t get explored much in this disappointing show. I guess that’s one thing to look forward to in the second season.
The fact that this already has a confirmed second season is perhaps the biggest tragedy. So many anime never get a second season, but this got a second season confirmed right after the last episode aired. Maybe I’m wrong, and this story gets significantly better as it progresses. There are a few things that intrigue me for a second season, but not enough to make me want to watch it.
