Lin Ling finds himself filling the role of superhero Nice when he witnesses the unthinkable.
Our Take(Spoilers):
When I first started watching this it wasn’t what I expected, I expected a typical anime not 3-D animation. I was prepared for the worst but it was an awesome animation. If you’re familiar with the Netflix show Arcane you’ll know what I’m talking about it looks that good. I also didn’t expect as fascinating of a story as we got.
Lin Ling gets fired and heads to the roof, while up there the hero Nice shows up. Only to jump off the roof and kill himself. Now Lin Ling is thrust into the role of Nice but how will that work? Turns out there’s a pretty unique power system in this series. If enough people have trust and faith in you, you get superpowers. Since Lin Ling is adopting the persona of Nice, and people think that he is Nice, he now has superpowers.
There’s a very interesting mystery as well because Lin asked why Nice killed himself and was met with the response “One day you’ll have to make the same choice” what does that mean?! Not only that but Nice has a girlfriend, Moon, who Lin seemed better with her than the real Nice was. I was looking forward to her figuring out but a romance blossoming between them anyways. Well… she’s murdered at the very end of the episode so I’ll be interested to see what happens. Will she be “replaced” like Nice was? Why are heroes dying all of a sudden?
