OVERVIEW (SPOILERS)The Kingdom of Science begins plans to drill into Xeno’s compound, as well as debut a brand new invention.OUR TAKEHey, you know what Senku was really missing with his character? A love interest! Or at least that’s what the story seems to think now that Luna, the spy turned new recruit for the Kingdom of Science, has properly made the switch to the good guys’ team. She didn’t exactly ingratiate herself to be very early on, considering a lot of her scenes are her repeating her catchphrase of being “a capable woman” and “a cool headed girl” over and over and OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. And now, through just the delusions in her own head, she seems to have taken Senku to be her “boyfriend”…even though he very likely had no say in the matter. And that’s not me saying I think Luna did anything improper here…well, nothing improper besides being a spy that got on their ship and tried to orchestrate his death. But yeah, she’s not exactly my favorite of the new characters, and I’m gonna have to bring out the dreaded “P” word when it comes to describing the fact that she’s one of their only women and she has instantly folded to having womanly feelings. That’s right, SHE’S….problematic. Dun dun DUUUUUUNNNNNN.But thankfully she’s not the only part of the episode, just a significant part of it. And her officially switching sides also gets her lacky, Carlos, to change as well and give the Science team a map to Xeno’s base, meaning they have a better means of drilling into it. In addition, they’re also able to put together an aircraft carrier and a fully functioning airplane, meaning they can also take on Stanley, who has his own plane, meaning we’re also in for some stone age dogfights, so that’s pretty cool. We still have two episodes left in this section of the season, so having a battle between planes along with the battle of wits between Senku and Xeno, and who knows who else will get paired up. Point is that things are steadily escalating in scope and tension, meaning we have the prerequisites for a pretty good finale coming up, but they’re going to have to make sure we’re left wanting more for the latter two parts. I’m sure the next two episodes will be good enough, but we’ll see I suppose!
