Overview:

On the way to a competition, Inori accidentally leaves her skates on a train. Tsukasa goes on a mad hunt for the skates ten stations away.

Our Take:

Once again I am here to tell you that Tsukasa is the best coach I’ve ever seen. When he realized that Inori left her skates behind on the train he didn’t panic. He went out and got those skates but he ran so far and so fast he came back drenched in sweat. But I think who I’m most proud of is Inori’s mom. When it comes to sports anime and parents you can have it go a couple of ways. More often than not the parents aren’t supportive and at the beginning that’s where Inori’s mom was at. But now she’s come a long way and her deciding to not show anger or frustrationg with Inori was well done. Kids make mistakes and I love how everyone responded to this particular mistake.

One thing that surprised me was that during the competition one of the girls took out a big chunk of ice during her performance. The next girl who performed almost messed up because she went over the chunked part. I would imagine that kind of like golf you replace your divots so why wasn’t the ice replaced? Maybe it’s harder than it seems but I feel like from a safety issue that is something that would be addressed in-between performances.
