English Dub Review: Magic Maker: How to Make Magic in Another World “Magical Research Begins in Earnest”
Overview
Shion’s father finally approves of his magic research, which leads Shion to a discovery. Meanwhile, Marie seems troubled as she devotes herself to her sword training…
Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, The plot continues to explore Shion’s fascinating development with testing magic this time with his father on board. Shion’s relentless pursuit of knowledge drives the story forward, while moments of support from those around him add warmth to his journey.
Meanwhile, Marie struggles with her limitations, which is understandable as the challenges of growth are all about learning from past mistakes. Not to mention she needs a better grip when it comes to handling a sword. While some elements seem to come easily to certain characters, the process of trial and error remained a central theme to the proceedings.
Overall, the episode delivered a great balance of world-building, character moments, and intriguing concepts. The mix of humor and heartfelt interactions makes for an enjoyable watch, even as the mechanics of magic remain a mystery. With each discovery, the story continues to build excitement for what’s to come.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
