Our Take:
The jury is still out on whether I think Miura is toxic, but he’s there to help Ishimori, and that’s something. The fact that Ishinori is coming out of her shell and finding things she’s good at and enjoys makes me think he’s looking out for her best interest. I was excited to see that Ishinori has an aptitude for basketball and I hope that becomes a relevant plotline later.
I hope that the kids who have been bullying Ishimori will call it quits after this week because I’m worried about how much it’s escalating. The property was damaged, and kids from another school came to Ishinori’s school to mess with her and Miura. So now they’re both involved, and something tells me they won’t let it go. But this seems like a cutesy show that is ultimately supposed to make us feel good, so I’m hopeful that we won’t see heightened violence toward these two. But if it comes to that it seems like Miura can handle himself.
