Overview
Louise trains Tina to be the last student standing during a cheese throwing battle against the other eighth graders; Bob and Teddy teach Linda how to successfully eavesdrop on customers’ conversations.
Our Take
Wouldn’t one think that if there was a whole cheese-throwing competition that someone who has been working at Bob’s Burgers for 15 seasons, would be the expert at throwing cheese? I mean, the infamous Bob’s specials board has like 50 different names and varieties of cheese so one would think that Louise, Tina,and Gene would be like the Jedi of throwing cheeses at people. If ANYONE should be the Big Cheese it should have been Tina from the get-go.
Alas this isn’t the case, even more of a missed opportunity is any commentary on the cheese-throwing antics of parents and pet owners on Tiktok and what we instead get is a pretty standard-variety episode where Louise and Gene coach up Tina to be good at something while the rest of the family have a fun-filled adventure of learning all about eavesdropping.
This Bob’s Burgers season has been filled with a lot of almost-great episodes and ideas, I can’t help but think this was another of those examples, but for a hang-out episode this week was very rudimentary at best.
