OVERVIEW (SPOILERS)The Primos uncover a forgotten bin of gifts, and later Gordita tries bonding with her cousins to disastrous results.OUR TAKEWe’re back to Primos for their own Halloween special! Or rather half of one, since only the first segment is really anything on the spooky side, and on top of that, it’s partly a clip show, full of clips about how the Primos and Tater have grown closer since they first showed up. Except for us viewers, the show only started a couple months ago, so it’s not AS sentimental as one might hope, especially since clip shows are usually saved for at least a couple seasons down the line. Maybe this was more planned out for a weekly release? We ARE just about at the twenty episode mark, and if this were released weekly, we’d probably already be into next year, but then again we’d also move right past Halloween so I guess this evens out? I will say that, after seeing the initial episodes back in August, it is nice to see some clear signs that Tater is learning to trust and bond with her cousins. The other segment, focusing on a single cousin, Gordita, is more like the typical ones I remember reviewing a couple months ago, with one cousin having a gimmick and then trying to connect with others through that. Although if I remember correctly, the early episodes were more about Tater trying to relate to one cousin from her end. Instead, it looks like Gordita is the one who is having trouble relating to the rest of her cousins through her interest in robotics and scientific experiment, so Tater another cousin, Bud, try helping her out so that she won’t be discouraged and decide to only focus on science instead of her family. It’s a solid example of why I think this show works in balancing the comedy and ways things can go crazy and zany along with the wholesome family stuff. Anyway, not sure when we’ll get to cover Primos again, but if anyone needs swaying to check it out, I wholeheartedly recommend you do. Whatever controversy this show started with has hopefully died down by now and if not, it’s overshadowing a good use of your next twenty minutes! Just give it a look at and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!
