Overview:

When it becomes apparent that Azure’s life is in danger, Nina escapes the castle to seek help from the former king. However, the former king’s wisdom and cleverness quickly puts Nina in danger.

Our Take:

This was a great episode for romance fans and fans of political intrigue. I wish the former king had a little more power because he was a character I would like to see more of because he seems to be very wise. He recognized that Nina wasn’t the princess almost right away, and locked her away. She had come to him for help because she feared the queen was attempting to kill Azure.

One of my favorite parts was that they expected Nina to be miserable in the dungeon but it was a little nicer than her house she was living in before Azure captured her. It goes to show you that what some of the most poor in society deals with every day is torture to some of the rich elite.

I knew that the romance angle for this series had to be between Nina and Azure but this episode cemented it for a multitude of reasons. We learned that Azure is also not of noble blood, the prince had died and they got a child who looked like him. It was a bit annoying that they used the exact same thing here but it makes sense I suppose. It brings to light why he has such a sense of duty to the state and doesn’t mind laying down his life. But also I thought he wouldn’t be the one to make a move on Nina but we’re only three episodes in and he already kissed her! This could end up being a really fun series.
