Overview (Spoilers Below):

In an attempt to get back his phone that has Bomi’s precious contact info on it, Hobin confronts the couple who mugged him in a karaoke booth live on stream.

Our Take:

Even on the verge of internet greatness, Hobin gets the short end of the stick. The proof is at the end of last week’s episode, where Hobin got mugged and had his phone stolen by a seemingly lovely couple who turned out to be just as bad as his bullies. Even worse, Hobin’s phone has his former coworker/love interest Bomi’s contact number on it. If you want another reason Hobin deserves to be free from this curse, this is it.

The episode continues where we left off, with Hobin and Snapper venturing to get Hobin’s phone back, but that’s not all they do.  They’re also keeping their fans entertained by having Hobin give the couple a good dose of karma live on stream.  However, the mugger seemed more challenging than an average school bully.  But, thanks to the training video Hobin watched, the scrawny NewTuber learned to take a hit and weave the mugger’s punches, winning the fight without laying a single finger on him.  Although, it’s also because of the mugger’s knuckles swelling up from all the punching he did.  It serves that mugger right for messing with the little guy.

After using the NewTube money to buy a tracksuit, Hobin meets up with Bomi in the park to hang out, but it’s far from a friendly get-together.  During that time, Hobin started hearing people bad-mouthing him, even when he was live-streaming.  At least his internet fans support him, but that doesn’t fill the empty void of a doubted Hobin’s heart.  Unfortunately, his day with Bomi gets even worse when Hobin discovers that Bomi’s childhood friend is Kim Moon-seong, who goes to the same class as Hobin.  It also doesn’t help that Hobin lied about Kim being his buddy.

The episode offers another captivating struggle that’s more challenging than an actual fight: impressing a crush.  More importantly, it showcases Hobin’s sensitive side more when he confesses his true feelings toward Bomi, giving viewers and me another valid reason to root for the online underdog.  Hopefully, he has enough skills from his previous encounters to survive a day with the imposing MMA fighter.
