Our Take:
This episode is the point in the story I point to when I’m trying to showcase how great the character development of Rudeus is. He knows that Norn doesn’t like him very much but he still goes out of his way to help her when he thinks she’s being bullied. Admittedly this does lead him to make some false accusations of people but he apologizes once he realizes that Norn’s problem is living up to the standard that Rudeus has set.
When you have an older sibling who’s extremely gifted and you end up going to the same school it can be tough. Luckily, Rudeus remembered his older brother trying to save him from being a shut-in in his past life. Now that the roles are reversed he understands that his brother was trying to help him and show him that he was still loved. This experience equipped Rudeus with the right words to say because he knew what he didn’t want to hear when he was in that position. Seeing characters grow is one of the best things about this series and I’m glad that Norn and Rudeus can act like proper siblings.
