OVERVIEW (SPOILERS)Tensions continue to rise between the creatures of nature and the citizens of Krapopolis. Hippocampus and Daphne work to try and stop this…mainly because they’ve been screwing for awhile and don’t want to mess with that. Unfortunately, things pop off and a war breaks out, forcing them two be open about their relationship, which manages to calm everyone down.OUR TAKEHuh, didn’t really expect them to go in that direction with the Daphne stuff. It did kind of seem like it could go either way with her either pursuing something with Tyrannis but then again there was definitely more focus on her interactions with Hippocampus. Who I guess can also be called “Hippo” for short? That’s so weird to say, because he definitely does not look like a hippo at all. I’m starting to think that naming most of the characters in latin was not a good idea. It BARELY works to call Tyrannis “Ty”. Like shit, man. Did this show really only get three seasons because it was paired with NFTs? I’m starting to think that may be the case, because the foundational problems are just becoming too hard to not notice. Uh, anyway, Daphne is officially with Hippocampus and this is supposed to settle the ongoing plot of civilization continuously butting heads with the nature it is taking over by expanding. I’m sure this will not be the last time that we get into the stuff with the nature people, especially since this series loves reminding us that it will eventually lead to the modern day, where nature is very much in danger. As I bring up whenever the show indulges in its fantasy elements, it’s nice when they decide to make use of stuff that only a show like this can make use of. They’ve got the ongoing expansion of humanity being at odds with the natural elements that they need to survive, and that conflict has led to a love between a fish guy and a plant girl. If this were Pokemon rules then Hippocampus would DEFINITELY be dead, but thankfully that is not the case. Is it clear by now that I am grasping at straws for discussion topics? Still, I’d say this is probably one of the better episodes of the show, especially as it makes good use of the gradually developing continuity that was otherwise used sparingly. With a few episodes left in the season, maybe we’ll see more examples. Also, ain’t it weird that they didn’t have the episode about the ECLIPSE this week when we just had a big eclipse today? Again, feels like a bunch missed opportunities with that episode. Anyway, Krapopolis is off for a couple weeks so that The Great North can get a double beef sandwich. And even after that there’ll still be like another four or five episodes to go, so it’s not like we’re running out of content to talk about yet. But hopefully the next few episodes will provide more to talk about than this one. See you on the 21st!
