English Dub Review: The Daily Life of the Immortal King “Birth of Evil Sword Lord”

Overview:

While spending time with his friends Wang Ling gets attacked by the Evil Sword Lord. Can he have a normal day?

Our Take:

I’m appreciative of the development of Wang Ling and seeing him want to enjoy time with his friends now. I do feel bad though because he seems never to get a chance to enjoy time with them without any other major issues arising. If it’s not a terrorist attacking his school then it’s an evil sword lord invading his space created to spend time with his friends. Luckily, Wang Ling is the strongest person in the universe and I have a feeling he will put this evil guy in his place in the next episode.

One thing I’m a little less confident in is this season ending in a satisfactory way. One thing this show is guilt of is cramming a whole lot of wild and crazy things into the last episode so that it becomes almost incomprehensible. Don’t get me wrong the show is still a lot of fun to watch but the last episode of season two for example had a lot of convoluted time travel shenanigans that haven’t been touched on since. I just hope that we can get a season finale that makes sense this time.
