Overview:
It’s spring break. Shiina calls Ayanokoji to discuss books. Meanwhile, Class B’s Kanzaki appears before Ryuen, who is having a secret meeting with Hashimoto. Although the class was defeated, Kanzaki faced Ryuen without hesitation.
Our Take:
I know harems are nothing new in the anime world but this might be one of the more messed up ones. Almost every girl seems to have a thing for Ayanokoji but since we can hear his innermost thoughts we know he doesn’t view them as much more than pawns. There were two times in this episode when his thoughts were disturbing. While with Ichinose he seems kind and caring and tells her that one year from now they should meet privately to see how much she’s grown. But he thinks that he will give the killing blow if she is close to a breaking point.
Normally in an anime when two characters get in a romantic relationship I love it and get excited to see how they are as a couple. Now that Ayanokoji and Karuizawa are officially a couple I don’t have those feelings. Ayanokoji is an interesting protagonist but not a “good” protagonist, at least not as he is now. We all know that he is just going to use Karuizawa, but what intrigues me is that he stated he is using her to learn about romance because that was something he couldn’t learn about in the white room. Maybe this will cause him to be less cold but I don’t think that will be the case.
