Overview (Spoilers Below): The smell of meat lures in uninvited guests—among them, a familiar face emerges. To move forward, they must work together to defeat the Undine.
Our Take: The team has reunited with an old ally, thanks to the monster meat’s sweet, savory aroma. Unfortunately, their little reunion is far from satisfactory. Their “ally” is revealed to be one of Laios’s original party members, Nimari, who left the party following their escape from the Red Dragon. Nimari is a dwarf fighter specializing in weaponry and metal, including the one from Senshi’s pots. She now works for another team of adventurers consisting of the Tances, Kaka, and Kiki due to her struggles in providing enough money. While Marcille is still pretty peeved at Nimari for leaving the group when they needed her the most, they must put aside their differences to overcome a common threat. The episode sees the two groups cooperating to defeat (and cook) two different monsters. The first is the Ivy Tentacle, whose poison from the vines causes paralysis if touched. With Nimari’s help, Laios, Senshi, and the others defeated the Ivy Tentacle, rescued Kiki from its grasp, and dressed it in vinegar. As a result, Tansu, the team’s healer, healed Marcille’s wounds as a sign of thanks, although he was a prick for using Nimari as a shield against the water spirit known as the Undine. Fortunately, with each other’s help and Senshi’s pots, the teams turned the Undine into a source for reviving Marcille’s mana and an ingredient for a delectable stew. The episode served up tentacles and Undine-flavored stew and provided a much-needed and often humorous resolution to Marcille and Nimari’s minor conflict. However, just because they’ve made up doesn’t mean Nimari is ready to rejoin Laios’s party, as she’s still with the Tances. Nevertheless, as the group continues their quest to rescue Falin by exploring the dungeon, there’s a possibility for them to reunite with Nimari. The question of when and how is anyone’s guess.
