OverviewRed and Rit reunite with Yarandrala and she suggests they move to the Kiramin Kingdom. Yarandrala’s persistence on the subject leaves them a bit confused. Afterward, everyone takes a dip in the hot spring at Tisse’s recommendation…Our Take Yarandrala meets Rit & Red on their Journey to get a special Gem to make their wedding rings. Of course, like most anime, we also get a bit of an obligatory “hot springs” scene where Yarandrala wants to help the two get back into adventuring, but as a couple, they both seem content with where they currently live in the village of Zoltan. But later on, Ruti privately reveals something to her servant Tisse that’s a bit too irksome regarding how she feels about Red, but the less I talk about, the better…But later on, they get to the heart of this episode’s plot which involves a monster called a “Gem Beast” that has been causing trouble Rit and Red are in the process of stopping to help some villagers they were originally supposed to make a deal with known as the “Gem Giants”. But much to my shock, the Gem Beast is actually hand-drawn which is kinda refreshing to my eyes at this point since most Anime recently have been using cel-shaded 3D models for creature designs as late from other Anime I’ve been seeing, but the twist of how the creature is dealt with was the right kind of suspense and effectively worked. But later on, we get more of an update regarding that disturbing blue-haired dude and the church…Overall, a good continuation with actual stakes and urgency, while introducing some new character dynamics and reveals that nobody expected. I’m also impressed with the monster’s design as it’s something I never would’ve thought about. As for the ending, this subplot is leading to something bigger given the subtle connection to the powers Ruti used to have. But we’ll have to find out how they’re both connected and why it’ll be significant later on.
