OVERVIEW (SPOILERS)Kaoru sets up a new potion shop in her new home and gets into various antics, including messing with the local army, getting bought and sold by the local landlord, and just being a little rascal.OUR TAKEYeah! So! We’re still at it with this show that has made clear it does not really have a clear plan of where to go. We’ve had episodes about screwing over royalty and episodes about handily defeating whole armies along with pantsing the clergy, and now I guess we’re just focusing on Kaoru trying to get married and running a pharmacy. Look, I’m not judging anyone who just wants a simple existence and meeting someone to share their life with. That’s an admirable goal and I wish that for anyone that wants it! Hell, it could even be an interesting story to watch if given to the right person to write it! But it seems like, for whatever reason, the story is not interested in actually going into that and instead wants to show us Kaoru building a pharmaceutical empire in the most boring way possible. She literally has the power to conjure anything into existence as long as it has a potion (which can also contain anything) in it, and SAYS she doesn’t want to draw attention, even deciding to move kingdoms to avoid people noticing her…but then decides to wear the same clothing AND draw attention with all her antics.I’ve been covering a lot of shows in the past few weeks, some having just ended and others close, and by the third to last episode, there should be some sign that we are approaching some sort of closure or plot wrapping up or even just RAMPING up. It could be also that this is just an episodic comedy show…but I’m not so sure about that since it’s serialized like other Isekai stories. I really just feel at a loss for what I’m supposed to be judging this on, what it’s trying to go for and why, and whether or not it’s accomplishing that. But I gotta say something about the ten episodes I have seen so far and OF the ten episodes I have seen so far, it’s still not a great show, or even a good show. Where is this plot of her finding a guy going? What does her getting one over on the local army or landlords have to do with that or add to that? What, if anything, could they do with these last two episodes to MAYBE POSSIBLY turn things around? Find out in the next couple weeks as we try to end this as painlessly as possible.
