Overview:
Bored with having nothing to do but study, the students play a puzzle game, which stirs up bad memories for Philomela and Rian. Alcyone ponders her assigned role. As the rainy season starts, Elias and Chise finally catch up.
Our Take:
I know I’m going to sound like a broken record at this point but I feel awful for Philomela. Her backstory hasn’t been fully fleshed out yet but I think that’s coming and I have to say that as close as Rian seemingly was to her he should know why she is the way she is. In a flashback, we’re shown that one time Philomela was excited to beat Rian in the game when they were younger and she excitedly told her grandmother who just shot her down and made her feel worthless.
One part that wasn’t sad and was pretty cute was getting to see Chise and Elias catch up on things that had been happening. I didn’t realize it until that moment but it had been a minute since they got to just sit and talk. Even being a big romance fan I found it hard to get excited about the main “couple” in this series because it just felt off. But I think these two genuinely care for each other and just hearing how they talk to each other was adorable and I hope we don’t have to wait so long next time.
