Overview:
Unilord sends Shy and Spirit on an urgent mission to the North Pole. There, they rendezvous with China’s hero and work together to investigate the fate of researchers who had lost contact with the Arctic Base.
Our Take:
Shy broke one of anime’s top rules, assuming someone is a girl or boy. Shy and Spirit met the Chinese hero Mian Long and he happened to mention wanting to be manly Shy destroyed his spirit by saying “You don’t need to act manly, you’re a girl!” you can’t say stuff like that!
I think now we are going to get some full-blown super villains now. I know that Stigma is a big bad guy but it seemed like he was infecting normal people and getting them to do evil things. The ice villain they encountered in this episode was missing the ring that Stigma’s usual victims would wear. I still have a lot of questions about the power system in this series but I think we will find out more soon with this villain situation.
I love Shy and she’s a fantastic character but I have to say I would love to see more of Spirit. This show also did another typical anime thing in making a seemingly major injury look minor. It looked like Sveta (Ice Villain) shot ice through Spirit’s chest but she seemed fine, always weird to me.
