Overview:
Shy returns to school only to face Iko Koishikawa, a girl whose injuries she blames herself for. As if that wasn’t stressful enough, a mysterious young boy sows discord and forces the girls to face the darkness in their hearts.
Our Take:
In an interesting twist of fate, the girl Shy saved in the first episode transfers to her class and sits beside her. Now Shy is faced with her “mistake” as she doesn’t have to wonder much longer if Koishikawa resents her. I have to say I really like the heart of this anime, it’s about superheroes but I think it also shows that their people as well. That’s one of the reasons that Spider-Man is one of my favorite superheroes, he might have powers but ultimately he’s just like you and me.
Unlike Spider-Man however, Shy had her secret identity revealed two episodes in. But if I’m being honest I like it when that happens. It gets pretty boring when they keep it a complete secret, at least one person should know to make things interesting. Even Bruce Wayne told Alfred on day one and he’s widely recognized as the smartest superhero ever. I’m very much looking forward to the dynamic between Shy and Koishikawa.
