Largely, NFT-backed animated series have been successful with the likes of FOX’s Krapopolis making a bunch of money even before the show premieres on the network on September 24th, but like anything else, you get your scams and that seems to be what happened here.

Stoner Cats  2 LLC, a company that commissioned an NFT-backed animated series called Stoner Cats a couple of years ago that featured the voices of Mila Kunis, Seth MacFarlane, Dax Shepard, Chris Rock, and Jane Fonda amongst its ranks, is being fined $1 million and is being ordered by the SEC to return funds to investors after it was discovered that the series was being used as a vehicle to mislead investors on the optimal benefits of their investments. Unfortunately for the investors, there were no real profits in the resell value of any of the NFT’s that were issued, therefore, the investment was shit.

All of the NFT’s will be destroyed by the production company and a public notice will be posted as well.
