By Marcus Gibson

August 02, 2023

Overview (Spoilers Below):

Engulfed with jealousy, Kaya tries to thwart Miyo’s engagement with Kiyoka. Miyo leaves the house and forgets to bring the good luck charm Kiyoka gave her.

Our Take:

Miyo and Kiyoka’s love has grown stronger thanks to her special gift to her future husband. Unfortunately for them, some people don’t want them to have their happily ever after, bringing us to this week’s episode. It’s still obvious that the series is emotionally gorgeous, but it’s also admittedly frustrating when Miyo’s family continues to be selfish jerks toward Miyo.

Kaya is undoubtedly no exception, promoting herself from wicked stepsister to the evil queen from Snow White in seconds. The previous episode saw Kaya being charmed by Kiyoka when he was leaving the Saimori residence. As a result, she grows jealous of Miyo being with Kiyoka and strives to end their relationship and be better than her. Of course, Kouji’s father, Minoru, also wants to destroy the love between Miyo and Kiyoka, so he cooperates with Kaya to exchange marriages by force.

Part of this nefarious plot involves Kaya persuading Kouji to be with Miyo. Fortunately, Kouji is smart enough to know Kaya and Minoru’s heartless attempts to take away Miyo’s happiness. Kouji has been in love with Miyo and hopes to rescue her by marrying her, but that plan is derailed when he becomes engaged to Kaya. However, he’s not like the other characters regarding their obsessive nature, as Kouji strives to help Miyo end her sorrow as a friend, even if it means confronting Minoru, who has telekinesis like him.

With Miyo captured by Kouji’s father’s men with chameleon abilities, Kouji seeks Kiyoka’s help in rescuing her. This means we’re about to get an enticing confrontation between Kiyoka and the Tatsuishi family, showcasing their powers in action. If that’s the case, we might see Kiyoka using his pyrokinetic powers to probably burn Minoru and even the Saimori family for their sins against Miyo. It sounds a bit extreme, but those people deserve worse based on how they’re treating Miyo.
