English Dub Review: My Unique Skill Makes Me OP Even at Level 1 “Moving to a New Place! Just Relaxing at Home”

Overview (Spoilers Below): Ryota’s skill has proven so profitable that he decides it’s time to move into a new home with Emily. But then he learns about magic carts, which can help him carry even more items out of dungeons, and sees an opportunity for even greater profits.

Our Take: This episode’s title speaks for itself. With how cramped the tiny house is for two people, it’s the right opportunity for Ryota and Emily to get a larger place to live in. However, they’d still need to grind for money so they have enough to buy a new home. This objective is unsurprisingly easier done than said, considering their profound skills, as Ryota and Emily gained a necklace from a rare monster in the Telulu level four dungeon that grants them double drops. The monsters also drop Bamboo Chutes to sell to Erza, but they wound up selling them to the green-haired woman instead. Afterward, Ryota reconsidered getting a magic cart after seeing Princess Margaret use it to carry air boxes in the Nihonium dungeon. Of course, as we remembered in “Death or Carrot”, the magic cart costs as much as a new house. However, they must find and rescue Olga’s dad first, as he goes off to find a floating rock monster that drops a blue flower. It’s later revealed that Olga’s dad wants the rock monster to create his special magic cart, which he gives to Ryota and Emily for free for “rescuing” him. The episode continues to provide amusing scenarios that may seem random but are actually connected to its central plot, with the highlight being an upset Emily waking Olga’s dad from his nap. More importantly, it further displays the likability of its character relationships, mainly Ryota and Emily, while providing slight hints of development that may or may not be crucial to the remaining episodes. The best example occurs at the end of the episode with Ryota rescuing Erza from an angry customer, resulting in her kissing him. So we’re assuming that the relationship between Ryota and Erza is blossoming, even though its buildup to that point could’ve been expanded a bit more. With a new house at their disposal, Ryota and Emily’s new life together continues to improve.
