English Dub Review: Dr. Stone: New World: “Science Wars”

Overview: Kohaku (Felecia Angelle), Amaryllis (Leah Clark) and Ginro (Justin Briner) infiltrate the masters domain while Senku (Aaron Dismuke), Gen (Brandon McInnis), Suika (Sarah Wiedenheft) and Soyuz. (Aaron Roberts)

Our Take: Nobody can ever say Dr. Stone never pushes the envelope when it comes to the mind-boggling simplicity involved within inventions. New contraptions, like Senku’s earpiece communicator, continue to offer delightfully insightful lessons to learn about in the rudimentary parts involved. It gets even more insane when a remote controlled drone and car enter the equation.

Ginro may be useless for just about anything, but he is never lacking as the comedic relief. Setting him up as an integral and important member of the group only to swipe it away with his idiocy is hilarious. Kohaku doing her damndest to act cute or Amaryllis turning up the charm as a distraction are also fun hijinks.

Kohaku finds platinum within the enemy base, but communicating that to Senku and the gang provides its own challenge. Ishigami village’s general illiteracy makes for an intriguing and unexpected hurdle. However, deciphering exact syllables through pictures is one hell of a stretch as far as clever solutions go.

However, Dr. Stone is no stranger to outlandish answers, which is a part of its genuine charm ironically in how smartly it handles science.
