Lowbrow Studios Acquires Dorkly From CH Media
Connecticut-based Lowbrow Studios(Sonic For Hire, Morty Kombat, and Megaman Dies at the End), the animation arm for internet comedy company CollegeHumor (CHmedia) has acquired the Dorkly brand for an undisclosed sum.
In an announcement about the acquisition, Lowbrow has noted that new original content will be released on the Dorkly channel’s YouTube page which will include sequels to original bits, brand-new stuff, Literal Pokedex (however, less often), and even podcasts.
Check out the Dorkly channel here and be sure to note the channel’s Patreon which is said to be the new source of income for the network so as to keep the channel independent as long as possible.
There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
