Overview:
Masayuki is suspected of killing his ex-wife when the police find her dead. There was a message written in blood on her hand that put Masayuki at a great disadvantage. The only one who can vouch for his innocence with an alibi was Yuki-Onna, who was with him at the time of the murder. But there’s no way he can let a yokai provide a statement for him. Yuki-Onna asks Kotoko for help to track down the real killer.
Our Take:
I really loved the first season of this when it aired back in 2020. It was one of those that I never thought would get a second season but it seems like we’re starting to get more second seasons than before. As for this anime, what I really like is the detective stuff mixed with the supernatural happenings. Iwanaga is really smart and seeing how she figures out some of these cases is really impressive.
I’ll admit to being a bit behind on season two for this one so I just jumped in but I wasn’t overly lost and I think that’s a good thing. For a minute I was wondering when anyone from the main cast was going to show up but Iwanaga showed her face. The animation is well done and the characters and story are enjoyable. You could do a lot worse and if you’ve been waiting three years for this then this might be the time to jump back in.
