Overview
Deb becomes the target of intense internet backlash after an altercation at the local grocery store earns her widespread infamy.
Our Take
Yes, that may be the synopsis, but there’s a lot more going on in this week’s episode than another episode of an animated series having really to do with an embarrassing animated video going viral. Rather, “Business Mom” largely is the introduction of the Dennison family which features among its ranks Andy Daly as “Ron” and Lennon Parham as “Mel”, and they run the rival cracker operation that is far more successful than the Hornsby clan’s rinky dink operation.
Because of this, the Dennison family is the more affluent family on the block, complete with a gaggle of kids that are hoping to welcome Matt into their fold. Fortunately, Matt eventually learns that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side, but not before we get Deb going all ninja on the Dennisons in one of the great climaxes I’ve seen all year.
We all know that Andrew Daly is an automatic win on anything he does, but how about Lennon Parham and Jessica St. Clair re-teamed from a multitude of collaborations, and put it on the animated small screen for everyone to relish? I hope Lennon shows up in additional episodes, and really the entirety of the Dennison family gives the Flanders’ a run for their money in the category of “creepy as fuck”.
Royal Crackers is unfairly and unjustly hilarious to the point of no return. If I’m Adult Swim, I’m doing 70 episodes of whatever the fuck this is.
