Overview:

A monster lurks in the depths of the hotel pool, but it’s not half as creepy as the ne’er-do-wells lurking around Nurse Sakura at the beach…

Our Take:

You know that your protagonist isn’t well-liked when a water monster is introduced and you like them more than the main character. I keep waiting for Ataru to improve somehow but I don’t think I should hold my breath because it doesn’t seem like he’s going to change anytime soon. The lack of a main plot isn’t doing the series any favors either. The first episode set the stage and it was really enjoyable but now we’re just kind of stuck in one-note comedy limbo. This is great if you love this brand of comedy but it has overstayed its welcome to me.

I love a good harem anime and trust me they are hard to pull off. You have to make a character that is dumb enough to not realize that all these women love him while also being charismatic enough to still attract them. Ataru is dumb as hell but for the life of me, I don’t know why any of these women like him. I thought Lum would have more of a believable reason for sticking with him as long as she has but not really. I hope this is one of those that gets better as we go along because as of now it isn’t very good.
