HBO MAX Announces April 2023 Release Schedule For Original Animated Series ; Fired On Mars Gets Long-Awaited Premiere Date!
April Fools Day is right around the corner so it wouldn’t shock me if something surprise debuted on Adult Swim April 1st only to be added to this list, so we’ll keep track and let you know if we hear/see anything. In the meantime, we’ve got big news by way of the new HBO MAX schedule for April 2023 which not only features Paramount’s Clone High acquisition probably designed to prime us for the reboot series coming later this year, but also the debut of a brand-new series starring Pete Davidson called Fired on Mars which has had no real news since its announced development several years ago. From creators Nate Sherman and Nick Vokey, FIRED ON MARS is an existential workplace comedy set on the Martian campus of a modern tech company. Pete Davidson voices a character and executive produces with Carson Mell (“Silicon Valley”) and Dave Sirus.
There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
