Overview:
Meryl and Roberto are taken to JuLai, the Third City, by Zazie. There, they learn why and how the human race ended up on this planet, No Man’s Land. They also see Conrad, the former leader of the Sinners research group, who explains his goals. Meanwhile, Vash and Wolfwood reach the top floor of the JuLai Tower, where Knives awaits.
Our Take:
Ya know I always knew that Roberto was actually a pretty good guy. But hearing him call Meryl by her actual name as he died was almost too much for me. This has been an emotional weekend of anime watching for me and this is one of the main reasons why. Based on the content of this series I was always under the impression that bodies would eventually start to drop and unfortunately this will create some good character development for Meryl so I look forward to more episodes.
I’ve also decided I feel pretty bad for Vash because it seems like almost everyone hates him but he goes out of his way to help the very same people who hate him. He gets shot, stabbed, and all sorts of other things but he continues to just smile and keep pressing on. I’m not sure how many episodes this will end up being but I hope it covers the whole series. At the very least because of this, I’ve decided I’m going to watch the old series as well.
