English Dub Review: Bluelock “The Second Selection”

By Ben Schmidt

Overview:

With many candidates dropping out, the Bluelock project moves on to the second selection. It’s where a teammate becomes a foe, and a foe becomes a teammate. And here, Isagi meets Itoshi Rin, the strongest egoist he’s ever met, the top player of the new Bluelock ranking, and the little brother of the genius Itoshi Sae. To evolve even further, Isagi’s battle proceeds to a new stage.

Our Take:

We now know that there aren’t actually 300 players at Bluelock and most players’ rankings are significantly higher than they were. But one thing I was hoping would happen did, Isagi and Bachira need to stay together no matter what which they did. But I also wanted to see Nagi and Isagi team up. Didn’t quite expect him to NTR his teammate but hey that just added some spice to the mix.

What makes the way Bluelock is designed so cool is the fact that nobody will shy away from a challenge. You would think Isagi challenging the number one, two, and three members of Bluelock would piss his teammates off but they were all for it. Everyone has an ego and people with egos want to beat the best. I can’t wait to see what happens.
