English Dub Review: Cardfight!! Vanguard Will+dress “The Future is Here”

Our Take(Spoilers):

So Yu-yu beat Michiru and while I appreciate the speed at which this plot is playing out this didn’t really feel earned. I’m not saying I need Dragonball levels of padding but a match of this magnitude should have probably taken at least two episodes. With Yu-yu being the closest thing we have to the main character I think we all knew he would end up in the final match. Maybe it’s just me not understanding the fundamentals of how the card game works but it didn’t feel like Yu-yu earned his victory.

There is a little bit of fun to be had with the upcoming final match between Yu-yu and Raika though. For one Raika thought it was a foregone conclusion he was going to be facing Michiru who also happens to be his hero. You can understand how he’s disappointed he gets Yu-yu instead. Raika was also the only person to beat Yu-yu so far, their rematch was bound to happen. Another wrinkle is that something seems to be wrong with Michiru after the match. I could see Raika thinking this was Yu-yu’s fault and trying to take it out on him. I’m intrigued about the final episode but I don’t have too much hope for this one.
