OverviewThe students of the Misfit Class have been given a special order. The order was for all of them to reach the Dalet rank before they become second-years, or they would lose the Royal One that they had worked so hard to obtain. The next event where they can raise their rank is the Harvest Festival. In order to help them raise their ranks in such a short amount of time, the school had prepared special tutors for them. The new term had only just begun, but unexpected trials await Iruma and his friends. Our Take Just the start of the new season/semester and the misfits are already in quite a predicament. Aside from the usual school hijinks you’ve come to expect from the show the biggest change so far is D.C. Douglas giving a cold Severus Snape-like disposition with his performance as Naberius Kalego which is a deadpan contrast to the wacky demon youths while introducing their newly assigned teachers are quite eccentric, to say the least.Iruma and Reed especially get the short end of the stick with Bachiko mostly in charge of the mentoring aspect who comes off as a stereotypical delinquent school brat who abuses her two students and subjects them to unusual indignities for the sake of a cheap laugh, yet is solely requested by Sullivan.Overall a good but unusual start for Season 3. It’s sort of sad to see the main trio separated for the first time and breaking the usual dynamic. However, it should more than makeup for it with their interactions with other characters. On the subject, much like in Shield Hero Season 2, Stephen Fu once again voices another character in place of the late Billy Kametz with another character he previously voiced named Asmodeus Alice, and so far Stephen does a seamless job in respectfully taking his place. As for Bachiko, it remains unclear whether or not her unusual tutelage will have any sort of big payoff for Iruma later on…
