Overview: Shu (Howard Wang), Kisara (Kayli Mills), Miles (Bill Butts), Mikami (Mark Whitten) and Ayano (Suzie Yeung) continue to investigate and track down clues as to the identity of the “True Agent,” who is believed to be Shu’s informant and behind the many D Hazards cropping up in the city.

Our Take: Crossing loved ones off of a criminal suspect list is never an easy task due to the horrifying betrayal that one is bound to find at the end of it. Conversely, the difficulty involved with suspecting friends and colleagues acts good source of levity in how Shu quintessentially apologetic nature over Kisara and Mikami even considering Ayano, or her mother and Mr. Ashiya to be the “True Agent.” It is also just a highlight of Shu’s shrewdness as a detective in never ruling one out and not wanting to give away his true intentions, making for smart reasoning in why he would not be upfront with Akino and Masaaki in his suspicion. All the while the mystery surrounding the unidentified director general thickens with being nothing known about him other than his hatred for demons.

When Shu goes to see the one nun who knows demons all too well, she teases the threat of Asmodeus and that the “True Agent” is merely a pawn of the entity, clearly defining it as the big bad of the series. Dropping even more bad news on his lap, Shu’s fragmented memory eventually affecting other ones that will make him coldhearted towards the people he loves is makes for a ticking time bomb of a conflict that only intensifies his time frame. Sharon’s role heats up the case in no time flat in the unbeknownst intel she gives to Shu.

Agent Mikami discovers the identity of the perpetrator by looking at camera footage. This huge reveal comes to screeching holt as he is murdered making for an sorrowful death but an engrossing development to the cat and mouse game. While his killer gets away, what does bear fruit for Kisara and Shu is chasing down the informant to uncover his identity, who is her annoying classmate and son of the mayor, Mikail, in a shocking twist. He is not the “True Agent” but a special trained undercover operative that has been monitoring the city through cameras, phones and GPS looking for the man behind the curtain. As is the pattern with elements of the plot, it’s smartly executed in how he would have the resources and training to aid and avail them for so long, making for a clever, unexpected development. It also just further mucks up the seedy grime at the underbelly of Bayron City. Thankfully, the show does not drag out the reveal for another two to three episodes and in stunning fashion Miles is the culprit, Shu’s old trusty friend and caretaker, making for an enthralling cliffhanger going into the next installment.
