Review: Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head “Roof/River”

By John Schwarz

August 11, 2022

Beavis and Butt-Head follow up their strong premiere week with another strong outing, this one seeing the dynamic duo take on the arduous journeys of looking out for packages for neighbors or trying to get on a lazy river for the ladies because they are both banned from the pool for peeing too much.

Really, it doesn’t make sense that NONE of the characters have aged despite being in a more modern-day setting than the early nineties, and really, I don’t give a shit. Seeing old faces like Tom Anderson is what gives the franchise the sauce to keep the old school fans warm all-the-while still roasting new school talent like Tik-Tokers and Post Malone.

I’d love to see the guys do feedback on other MTV shows, like how would the gang react to Catfish and some of the other newer franchises from the network. The revival from the early 2010’s did that with the likes of Jersey Shore and I couldn’t get enough of it, so let’s hope Mike gets to unlock a treasure trove of other unlucky victims.

Big shout out to Titmouse for being probably the only animation studio in the world that can keep the dankness of Beavis and Butt-Head alive and well. I’m not sure I could trust this franchise of anybody else.
