English Dub Review: takt.op.Destiny “Truth -Noise-”

Overview:

Anna and Destiny happen to see a town destroyed during their travels. D2s are awakening everywhere and attacking various towns and people, reverting the world back to four years ago, before Sagan’s Declaration. As the threat from the D2s grew, Takt was obsessing over something. With a blank staff notation in front of him, Takt plays an imaginary keyboard as he desperately tries to create something.

Our Take:

I may just be filling in but I was still interested in this one. When the sub aired last fall I watched it every week and while I love the dub actors I don’t know if it helps enough to make it better. takt.op.Destiny is not a bad anime by any means but it does feel a little disjointed and falls into the pit trap a lot of short anime has. That is stuff just happening with no buildup, plus who didn’t see that guy being bad?

Where this anime kills it is in the animation department. The fight scenes are amazing and show why MAPPA is one of the top studios out there. Alexis Tipton and Jason Liebrecht do great in this. Emi Lo is someone who I have only heard a couple of times but I am always impressed by her. One other thing this show has going for it is a fantastic opening song. I really like how they use classical music or just music in general as a way to fight. No matter what you will at least have fun watching this one.
