English Dub Review: Lupin III Part VI “The Imperial City Dreams of Thieves, Part 2”

More familiar faces appear as Lupin pursues the automaton clock, and soon his quest to go home turns into a far more complicated conspiracy. Our Take

So the Lupin “Isekai” adventure comes to a close as it turns out, this was a Lupin and Goemon episode, but it worked as a nice little mini-arc and I also liked the reveal that the heir to this golden clock thing turned out to be a person nobody expected.

In a nutshell, nothing was what it seemed from the start with the way things unraveled. At the very least the characters were a lot more likable here, the mystery was a lot of fun, and the twist threw me off even if it felt like the plot twist of a Rick & Morty episode…

Overall, this episode was a huge step up from Part 1. While it wrapped up a little too quickly, I did like the creativity in this episode with the use of its “What If?” Isekai-like setting and characters. Next week should be back to the main plot as we find out what happened between Lupin and Holmes in London and I can’t wait!
