English Dub Review: Attack on Titan “Distress”

Overview:

What begins as a simple training exercise turns into a disaster. A dysfunctional team of cadets must learn to work together after a group of brigands takes Christa hostage.

Our Take:

It’s still crazy how much some of these characters have grown. Jean was such a carefree asshole, it’s clear that Marco’s death really affected him. One of the most heartbreaking moments was when Marco talks to Armin and says “I wonder what kind of soldiers we’ll turn into?” because of what happens to him. He never really got to be a soldier or see what kind of individuals his friends would turn into.

If the preview is to be believed the next OAD shows us some of Levi’s past and that is something I am really excited to see. Everyone loves Levi so getting to see more about him can’t hurt. These OADs are an interesting thing to review because it’s hard to recommend them. If you love Attack on Titan you will probably already plan on watching these. If you are a new watcher you will probably want to watch them as well. Essentially, so far you are getting more Attack on Titan and that definitely isn’t a bad thing.
