English Dub Review: Saiyuuki Reload: Zeroin “Even A Worm Will Turn”

Overview:

Goku grows closer to a certain demon girl. Unfortunately, there may not be a happily ever after once tensions boil over and the fighting begins.

Our Take:

The thing about war is that it only benefits a very select few people. There’s no reason for it but there are times when it can seem like the only or best option available. The demons have very little water and other resources so I can see why they feel they must fight. It doesn’t help that the people of the oasis town and most other people for that matter view demons as monsters. I get why they do and it leads me to my biggest issue with this show.

Up until a couple of episodes ago, we were led to believe that demons were the enemy. Sanzo and the gang traveled fighting demons. Or at least that is how I understood it but now I’ve learned that Goku, Hakkai, and Gojyo are all demons as well. The show is good and enjoyable but there is a definite barrier of entry that is frustrating. Goku was great this episode and I really loved his little love story, I hope this isn’t the end of it.
