English Dub Review: Sonny Boy “Boy and the Sea”

Overview(Spoilers):

When the news of Nozomi’s death reaches Nagara and Mizuho, they pay their respects; the duo comes across a friend who has something interesting to tell them.

Our Take(Spoilers):

Well, I guess getting turned into a compass would essentially kill you. Still, seeing Nozomi getting a funeral service at the beginning of the episode was kind of hard to swallow. I did not think she would be gone for good and I guess the way these “worlds” are set up it’s possible she isn’t gone for good but who knows.

There’s one episode left and what is going on still makes no sense to me. Though to be honest even if the explanation ends up being nonsensical or even if there isn’t one, I will still have enjoyed my time with Sonny Boy. It’s a fun show, with interesting characters, and good voice talent. Not to mention really interesting animation.

I’ll just be honest I have absolutely no clue how a rocket ship is going to take Nagara and Mizuho home. Everything in this show is so metaphysical and philosophical that a rocket ship seemed too normal. But I guess we will see what exactly their plan was next time. So if you need me I am going to still be processing everything that happened.
