10) Kuroko’s Basketball (English Dub)

As far as the final season go this was a pretty good one. There was a lot left on the table that I would like to see but it is also fine how it is. There is a movie that takes place after this but I am not sure if Netflix has plans to dub it at the moment. I would imagine they will and I really hope they do. This has become one of my favorite anime’s and I can’t recommend it more. It’s over the top and crazy but man is it fun. It is by no means perfect but it’s damn close and it’s finally dubbed.

9) Yasuke (English Dub)

Yasuke is a fun escape that is full of gorgeous animation and unbelievable fight sequences that reflect the barbarism of the samurai genre and the limitless imagination of fantasy narratives. This anime crafts an entertaining story that embraces history, but blends it together with such unusual and fantastical elements that it never feels like homework. Yasuke’s first season is confident and covers a lot of ground in six episodes, but it also feels like a tease of what this anime can accomplish with a longer leash. Hopefully Yasuke will get the opportunity to go even further with the unique foundation that it builds. Season one of Yasuke is a shotgun burst of creativity. It casts a wide blast that reflects the anime’s broader strokes and themes, but season two is ready to become a precision sniper shot that focuses Yasuke’s ideas into a deadly concentrated explosion.

8) Super Crooks (English Dub)

It’s very easy to want to write off all superhero material at the moment, especially when its prevalence is at an all-time high, yet not necessarily conquering any new territory. Super Crooks may look like more of the same, or a needless extension to an already-failed Netflix prospect, but it’s series like Super Crooks that prove that there’s still more to do and say with superpowered maniacs. It’s not just one of the biggest surprise highlights of the year, but one of Netflix’s very strongest anime productions.

7) Gundam Build Divers: Re:Rise (English Dub)

I remember the first Gundam series I watched. It was Gundam Wing on Toonami after school. That was one of the first mech series I had seen and I have been hooked ever since. When I say this series is a love letter to the franchise I wholeheartedly mean it. This show was a lot of fun for me as a Gundam fan. Would a non-Gundam fan have as much fun if this was their introduction to the series? Probably not if I’m being honest but it’s still fun mech action so I feel it still gets a recommendation from me.

6) Beastars (English Dub)

For being a show about anthropomorphized animals, Beastars is strangely human. The show deals with some pretty serious topics. Characters deal with loneliness and depression and sometimes lash out. They just have fangs and claws to lash out with. Seeing how an animal society handles certain things is as intriguing as the first season, with the game of “jaw wars” being an interesting game of tug of war that carnivores play.

5) Akudama Drive (English Dub)

Akudama Drive is a cinematic thrill ride that shouldn’t be missed, even though it probably will be by many. While it hasn’t garnered attention from mainstream audiences, this series is more than worthy of it. It takes inspiration from the greatest that film has to offer but also manages to carve out its own legacy in the anime walk of fame with a riveting story, stand-out characters, top notch animation/art direction and in-depth worldbuilding. With an ending that leaves the door open for a potential second season and unfinished plot lines still lingering, this is one sequel I’d show up for.

4) Jujutsu Kaisen (English Dub)

Jujutsu Kaisen is a quintessential example of how you perfect a modern Shonen and make it fresh and original. Deliver diverse and dynamic characters,, a banging soundtrack, interesting villains and, of course, phenomenal fights and stunning animation. Just like the manga series it’s based off of, to call it a page turner doesn’t even begin to do it justice.

3) 86 -Eighty Six (English Dub)

86 only continues to escalate in terms of quality with exceptional world-building and proper cultivation of the series’ robotic antagonists and crucial characters.

2) Pacific Rim (English Dub)

The first episode starts with a bang and pretty much doesn’t let up from there. If you are wanting non-stop monster-fighting action you might leave a little disappointed but if you like a more character-driven story you won’t be wasting your time.

1) Kaguya-Sama: Love is War (English Dub)

So I was really intrigued to see what the dub would be like and let me tell you, it’s still great. If you’re an anime fan, rom-com fan, or love comedy this show was made for you. The gags are hilarious, the facial expressions make you laugh almost as much as the jokes do. Then you have the amazing voice performances bringing life to it all. The show even brings in real-life psychology for a lot of traps the characters set for each other. Whether it be the use of the Barnum Effect or the Suspension Bridge Effect, they really let their genius shine.
